This is our latest advert commemorating 41 Thermal’s 10 Year Anniversary. For this one, Jim Bauer dug deep into the photo archive and put together one hell of a Photoshop file. Many software crashes later and you get an Odyssey ad that’s filled to its edges with history. If you want to get a good look at all of them, open up the 1920×1200 wallpaper or pick up Ride BMX’s 157th issue.

Also, in other Jim Bauer news, he is now a member of iPath’s BMX team!

Aaron Ross grip and bike check

A couple bits of Aaron related news. There’s a bike check up over at DigBMX.com and as always, you can count on it being one of the most colorful bikes in BMX. Ocean Blue and Fluorescent Pink in full effect.

His signature grip is also available in white now. If you want to treat your palms to some luxurious softness, these grips are the way to go.

Jim Bauer x Sharon Walsh!

Collab of the year! Cake time at the wedding reception. Photo by Nuno Oliveira.

The big news of Memorial Day weekend is our own Jim Bauer tied the knot with his sweetheart, Sharon Walsh! The ceremony was held atop Baldwin Hills with the city of Los Angeles as the panoramic backdrop. Reverend Mike Ardelean made the “I do’s” official and the newly-weds dashed away on a freshly detailed sidehack! The wedding was amazing and congratulations to Jim and Sharon!!!

Fluorescent Pink, White and Gold

New 36 hole rims in stock! Hit up our catalog for cross sections.

We have two new color options available for our Hazard Lites and the Seven KA rim now comes in white. Both clock in at 17mm tall and Hazard Lites have a width of 32mm, while the Seven KAs are 34mm. The Seven KAs are built using 7000 series aluminum so they’re a little bit lighter in comparison. Both, however, are two of the lightest and strongest rims you can find and can’t go wrong with either one.

These rims are painted so they’re more suited for brakeless riders. The gold ones are available in 24″ versions. Contact your local shops or mail orders to lace up a pair!

George’s Cover Story

“3… 2… 1… NOW!”

Did you know that in 1998, George French had a Ride UK cover?! I did not know that until about 10 minutes ago. Ride UK has been doing a series of articles featuring cover stories from past issues and right now, you can read about George’s story about the 7″ kicker to wallride.

Colored & Clear Plegs

The latest addition to the G-Sport Pleg family are clear and translucently colored plegs. Built using a variant of the original proprietary plastic compound, these see through versions have been known to slide fast on notoriously rough surfaces and copings and rails and anything you can throw at them. These clears Plegs outperform the original compound in both the standardized drop test and the long-term riding tests. The difference is noticeable and significant.

Available with 3/8″ or 14mm steel inserts and in clear, yellow, lavender, turquoise and blue colors. These clear sleeves are compatible with the original inserts.

*Not compatible with 19mm axle nuts.

I don’t think anybody guessed Plegs at all in our new shipment post so we’ll start the unveiling with these. They’re shipping now so contact your shops and mail-orders to get your hands on a pair.

Jimmy Levan and Aitken news…

Ben came across this Jimmy Levan bio in a 1991 issue of Go Magazine. To put it into perspective, at the time of the interview, he was 17 years old and had national number 14 for 17 expert in racing. The full scan’s after the jump, but to get to it, you have to envision yourself doing a bar hop.

I wanted to put up the scan earlier but the scanner at work wasn’t working so now you’re getting an evening update. However, things worked out ’cause I came across this other little gem when I got on my computer (originally from Ryan Fudger’s box):

The other day a bunch of us went riding around downtown with Aitken. We went to the vegan Chinese place and then cruised around downtown. It was so good to see him back on his bike all stoked. The craziest news is that Mike rode the first four sets at Tanner today. I wasn’t down there today, but when I heard it I couldn’t believe it. – Matt Beringer

Read that again and then high five the next person you see.
