Introducing OPTIS.

There’s no question that lots of BMXers are also riding MTB’s and DJ’s these days, and while there are many parts that cross over between BMX and MTB, there are also many unique areas on these bikes that still need further development. Our R&D team at @otxdesign noticed years ago that there was a growing need to improve on the performance aspects of low-pressure tubeless tire set-ups for all types of riding, so they got to work. Enter, OPTIS.

OPTIS is a lightweight, pneumatic tubeless tire insert that creates two highly tunable air volumes on a standard wheel. When inflated, OPTIS cinches down and hugs the rim, working as a bead lock, which is just one of many advantages that it offers.

- OPTIS prevents tire burping.
- OPTIS allows for lower tire pressures.
- OPTIS protects the rim and tire against impacts.
- OPTIS locks the tire bead and provides a temporary run-flat period if the tire is damaged.
- OPTIS is lightweight.
- OPTIS installation is easy and helps to seat tires.
- OPTIS allows for low rolling resistance.

Initial offerings are for 29 or 27.5” MTB rims with an inner width of 28-40mm.

“What!?”, “From here to where?!”, “The whole way??” These are all common responses when someone hears about a @jacob_cable clip. Using a fisheye to shoot this grind accentuated the curve nicely and made the rest of the rail look like it’s a half-mile long when it’s actually only a quarter-mile long.
