Terry throwing the first pitch!

Terry throwing a practice pitch.

Terry Adams will be throwing the first pitch in tonight’s Chicago White Sox VS. Boston Red Sox game! There’ll even be footage of him riding flat on the jumbo screen before making his entrance! You might be able to catch it on CSN @ 8:10PM Eastern Time.

As always, you can follow him on twitter.com/terryadamsbmx.

BIKE CHECK: Flatware, The Waltz

Here’s another bike we have on display in the Full Factory booth at Interbike. It’s called The Waltz and it’s equipped with the Flatware products that’s currently available, along with some samples and prototypes that are in the works.

Ocean Blue Bayou Bars, Flatware Forks and Socket Drive Twombolts will be available later this year (black versions are available now).

VIDEO: 2010 Interbike from Ride BMX

Here’s a new video from RideBMX.com showing off some of the stuff we brought to Interbike this year.

Aaron Ross’ Orange

The first bike up on the list is Aaron Ross’ Orange! Safety Orange is the new colorway we have lined up. The only part we have available right now for sale is the Aaron Ross Grip but you can expect everything else to come trickling in later this year.

One other thing that’s new in this bike check is Aaron Ross’ signature tire! It keeps the keyboard theme of all his other signature parts and the thread pattern are inverted keys which spell out some fun messages from Aaron Ross and a handful from the contest we held last year (we’ll be announcing the winners soon (credit karen here)). Click around the flipbook above for more photos and a complete parts list!

Interbike!

We don’t have a booth at Interbike this year but we do have a pretty strong showcase over at the Full Factory Distribution booth. We have a handful of new parts and colorways to show off, so stay tuned for some bike checks!

Chase Hawk Edit!

Here are some scrap clips of Chase Hawk from Fox’s Golden State of Mind tour!

Odyssey Brake Pad Breakdown

The photo above shows our current stock of Slim by Four brake pad offerings. There have been lots of inquiries about the pads, so read on for more info.

Most of the mail that we get asks the same question; “Which pad is best for me?” So, with that said, please continue reading for a breakdown on each pad.

Black – Normal Compound. Best overall pad for most riders. Can also be found on our Evo 2 Brakes.

Red – Medium Compound. More “grip”, with less “feather” than black pads.

Clear – Soft Compound. Most “grip” due to the extra-soft rubber durometer that is used. Ideal for our powder coated rims.

Gum – Soft Compound. Performs similar to clear.

The Slim by Four has a custom designed inner frame and a fully symmetrical BMX-specific shape designed for braking while rolling in forward and reverse.

Please note that the soft clear pads may still wear through the finish on powder coated rims over time, but they will not leave the “black streaks” that can result from using ordinary pads.

For those finicky riders constantly in search of dialed brakes, choosing the correct pad for your set-up can make all the difference.

Hit up your local shop or mailorder for some Slim By Four’s.

Taj Mihelich Update

Taj Mihelich has been keeping himself pretty busy lately. Aside from keeping his Fairdale Zine updated with plenty of drawings and awesomeness, he’s also been working hard on getting some bikes made!

It’s something I’ve wanted to do for years and years and I think even my hardcore BMX-only friends will be able to relate to some of the motivation behind it.

Fairdale is the brand for all my friends who ask me what kind of bike they should get just for riding around town. In the past, I always struggled to find a good answer for them. So many bikes are too focused on racing, extremeness, trends, are dorky looking or just bogged down with too much flakey technology. On the other hand, BMX, with its simple functionality, has taught me that the technology of a bike rarely increases the fun of riding it.

Mike Vincent Update

Our good friend Mike Vincent has an interview up on FatBMX.com about the trials and tribulations of trying to regain his vision. To give you guys a quick refresher, here’s an excerpt:

For those who don’t know you or who haven’t heard about your accident, can you fill them in real quick what happened so they’re up to speed for the rest of the interview? Well, just over 2 1/2 years ago my life was turned upside down. As many of you know, I was hit by a car while riding my bike in Los Angeles. I was in the bike lane and the girl that hit me actually drove into the bike lane. She threw me 30 feet. I was hospitalized for 6 months, then went for out-patient therapy for another 4 months. Two months after the accident, I completely lost my vision in both eyes. I had four brain surgeries, lung surgery, a trach, a feeding tube, numerous broken bones and two eye surgeries. I racked up over $3.5M in medical expenses in California alone. The girl that hit me had $100K insurance, which the State of CA had a lien on. So, my life was stripped from me and she didn’t get cited and only had to experience higher insurance premiums.
