Cory Walsh and the Gauntlet of Death

The Gauntlet of Death technically wasn’t open today but people definitely gave it a go. A lot of people failed but Cory Walsh eventually made it through and Ride BMX happened to be there to watch it all happen.

The Gauntlet doesn’t officially open until Sunday so that should give us plenty of time to make things harder :)

Video from Vital BMX

The Gauntlet of Death has been a Texas Toast Jam staple since the very beginning. This year we toned the course down a little bit thinking more people will make it through but in the end, only a handful ever got a crack at the curved wall to curved wall obstacle. Honorable mentions include Morgan Wade (last year’s winner) who made it to the double curve multiple times and to Chris Childs who was actually TRICKING obstacles as he made his way through the gauntlet. When the dust settled, the ultimate victory went to Gary Young (credit karen here). Watch him conquer the course above in this video from Vital BMX.

Gauntlet of Death

Very few people made it through the Gauntlet of Death during our Texas Toast Jam but lucky for us, Gary Young strapped on the GoPro to give everyone a taste of victory.

Texas Toast Jam and a Quick Trip w/George

For this episode of ODSY Vision, we bring to you our favorite clips from the Texas Toast Jam and a quick trip with George Boyd. He lives a few hours north of Austin so we met up with him a couple days prior and filmed a handful of clips along the drive.

Thanks to everyone who flew, drove, walked and pedaled to the Texas Toast Jam. You guys helped make it a good time with plenty of fun in the sun. Hope to see everyone again next year!
