George’s Cover Story

“3… 2… 1… NOW!”

Did you know that in 1998, George French had a Ride UK cover?! I did not know that until about 10 minutes ago. Ride UK has been doing a series of articles featuring cover stories from past issues and right now, you can read about George’s story about the 7″ kicker to wallride.

Jimmy Levan and Aitken news…

Ben came across this Jimmy Levan bio in a 1991 issue of Go Magazine. To put it into perspective, at the time of the interview, he was 17 years old and had national number 14 for 17 expert in racing. The full scan’s after the jump, but to get to it, you have to envision yourself doing a bar hop.

I wanted to put up the scan earlier but the scanner at work wasn’t working so now you’re getting an evening update. However, things worked out ’cause I came across this other little gem when I got on my computer (originally from Ryan Fudger’s box):

The other day a bunch of us went riding around downtown with Aitken. We went to the vegan Chinese place and then cruised around downtown. It was so good to see him back on his bike all stoked. The craziest news is that Mike rode the first four sets at Tanner today. I wasn’t down there today, but when I heard it I couldn’t believe it. – Matt Beringer

Read that again and then high five the next person you see.

Aaron Ross Etnies shoe

If the spot in this video was a dragon, Aaron Ross a medieval knight and his bike a sword, the mighty dragon would be slain and Aaron would ride off into the sunset with a princess standing on the back pegs. Far fetched analogies aside, there’s a Zack Morris cellphone chilling next to his laptop.

new shipment!

Fluorescent Orange Shipping Container

As I type this, there’s a large fluorescent orange shipping container getting unloaded in the back. Expect photos and such after they’ve been inspected. Any guesses on what’s inside?

Electronical: Chase Gouin

Chase Gouin’s part in Electronical is located in the bonus DVD so a lot of people may have missed it. Now, through the powers of the internet, you can watch it above.

Chase also has a Flatware frame in the works and if this 2008 bike check is any indication of how it’s going to turn out, you know it’s going to be one of the most dialed and thought out frames ever created. Also, while trying to hunt down that bike check, I came across this 2005 interview of Chase at BMX Freestyler. Though it’s over 3 years old, it still stands as a fascinating read.

EDIT: I accidentally put up the wrong link for the interview. The right one is up now.

Speaking of Ross the Boss, you can read about Aaron’s top 5 favorite moments on The Office over at ESPN. More photos of fluorange can be found after the link.
