News Gary Young

Hey, click this.

I’ve started using RSS feeds more often lately as oppose to visiting actual websites. For the most part, it gets the job done but it sure does take some of the fun out of the internet. Stuff also occasionally slips through the radar as a result of skimming titles, this video being one of them. Consequently, it has also resulted in me wasting your time with a paragraph long ramble before actually talking about the video being posted. Sorry. I’m trying to press my ‘delete’ key less.

ANYWAYZ! Check out this trailer spotted on the Ride site. It’s for a TV show called Let The Good Times Roll and the pilot consists of John Peacy, Gary Young, Kyle Hart, Hoang Tran, Tom Perry, Vince Kroff, Dirt Ron and Ryan Fudger. It’s an interesting concept and it’ll give you an idea of what it’s like shooting photos with your favorite BMX bandits. First stop was Vegas and our team and flow dudes killed it!

Gary Young Bike Check!

Gary Young

Gary Young picked up a new frame sponsor pretty quickly and he’s now officially on Sunday Bikes! JC put up a bike check for Gary so head over there and check it out.

Subterranean Homesick Blues

I promise this will be our last X-Games 15 related post and guarantee you’ll like it more than the others. Here’s a little highlight reel featuring Gary Young, Chase Hawk and Aaron Ross. Although Aaron didn’t make it into the street finals, he still managed to throw down some of the hardest tricks of the day. Chase blasted around like usual and boosted one of the largest 180s ever and Gary Young plunged into the deep end as a setup to one of the park’s hardest transfer lines. Click play, then clap.

Congrats Gary!!!

X-Games Park finals happened this afternoon and Gary Young flowed the course so well that he didn’t even have to go upside down to get on the podium! He rode the course how it was meant to be ridden, with creative lines and fluid smoothness, earning him a spot in the top 3. Needless to say, everyone here at Odyssey is very happy for him. Congrats Gary!!!

Gary’s rear peg

Ever wondered what a tailwhip or a mid-air bail looks like from your peg’s point of you? I can’t say that I have but it’s an odd perspective to say the least. In the video above, Gary Young shows you what a switch-footed, opposite 360 looks like via his rear peg.

Wallpaper madness! Here are three new ones for you to pick from. If you happen to be sitting in a computer lab (or have a printer handy), open up this PDF version of the Aaron Ross ad and print it out. Tape it up somewhere and shoot a photo of it. Then, e-mail the photo to aaron-ross-is-awesome(at)odysseybmx[dot]com or add it to the Odyssey Flickr Group.

The title doesn’t really make much sense but whatever. Here’s a fairly hefty update from internet land and the real world. One of the big news of the weekend is Terry Adams won another flatland comp. This time it’s the Twilight Contest. Visit Global-Flat for more info. There’s a 2 minute edit of the event after the read more link.

The other recent big news is there’s a Vigilantia preview over at MikeAitken.com. Things are moving and they should be available very soon. Outside of Vigilantia, Mike’s recovery is moving forward and it looks like he’s on the road to getting his full vision back! Full details over at his site.
