The gold wheels belong to…

…Taj Mihelich. He sent over a handful of pics and you can check them out in the flipbook above.

Some people also guessed they belonged to b_dubbs and they would’ve been correct as well. Click HERE for a gold compilation he put together prior to us sending out the wheels.

Defgrip Original: Jim Bauer

The latest person in the Defgrip Originals video queue is our very own Jim Bauer. Head over to Defgrip to watch it. Also, keep checking back here ’cause there’s a Bauer web video in the works as well!

MIKE AITKEN RAFFLE BIKE WINNER

Sometimes life works in mysterious ways….

A while back when 50/50 was accepting donations to benefit Mike Aitken, we had offered up our 2008 Interbike show bike (Gold Zinc S&M L.T.F. w/ Odyssey Purple Rain parts kit) as an added bonus for people to donate. Donate 10 bucks, you might win a bike that’s worth over a $1,000.00. Simple.

As time went on, people graciously donated and names were accumulated. 50/50 then gave us a list of all those names for us to pick a winner…

From there, we entered all the names into the random number generator once for every $10 that was donated. So, if you donated 30 bucks, your name was entered 3 times, and so on…

So, low and behold, John “Superfly” Skvarla ended up being the winner. I couldn’t believe it. This is crazy because I basically grew up riding with Supes, and this would totally look shady. However, it is not, and Supes won the bike fair and square, as shown in the picture above.

Congrats to Supes, and everyone who donated so generously to Mike. Over $50,000.00 was raised for Aitken.

Aitken / JC / Clean Ron

First up is a video of Mike Aitken, smiling large, hopping curbs and pulling 180s. Its so good seeing him on a bike again. Keep up with MikeAitken.com for the latest news. Also, Vigilantia is still moving forward. If you’re interested in becoming a distributor, send them an e-mail.

Next up is Dig’s Rapid Response with Jim Cielencki. He lives in a drinking town with a football problem?!

Third is Clean Ron of Give D! Front stoppies in full effect and right when you think he’s going to throw a barspin, he’ll kick out a candy bar instead.

Gold Wheels

Here’s another set of wheels we recently laced up and sent out; gold Marmoset and Ratchet hubs, laced onto gold Hazard Lite rims (currently not available) with gold Odyssey Spokes. Any ideas on whose bike they ended up on?

Front and rear stoppies

The last guessing game was a bit of a curve ball with most people guessing Aaron Ross or Terry Adams. If you were to look into a crystal orb (in this case, our Twitter account would be an adequate substitute), you’ll discover they actually belong to Mr. Adam Banton. We sent him a really bright parts kit and he’s done well with them. The black makes the colors pop like crazy and his new bike is looking dope. Check it out above (photos by Jeff Hall).

If you’re interested in stalking Adam, follow him on the Twitter and le Flickr.
The read more teleporter will take you to Adam’s 2003 Odyssey video part.
His Electronical part is on the way.

Whose wheels are these?!

Here are a few things that popped up on the internet that you guys should check out. The last one doesn’t click out anywhere yet but it should be pretty easy to find with a little searching. There’s a full picture of his bike floating around somewhere…

FROSTBIKE

I hit up the annual Frostbike show at QBP this weekend, which I love going to.

It seemed like a quick trip, but as always, a bunch of cool riders and shop people from all over the states came by to show some love and talk BMX. It was good to hear everyone’s feedback on a bunch of different stuff, as well as overdose on energy bar samples. So, THANKS to everyone who came through.

I shot a handful of pics throughout the weekend with the iPhone, and uploaded them to our Flickr page as I went. You can check those out HERE.

Until next year….

We have a winner!

Actually, we have a couple winners. One chimed in via Twitter and another via E-mail. The brand that toured under the name “Unbelievably Extravagant Urban Gorilla Thrash Tour” is Life’s a Beach / Bad Boy Club in 89-90 and featured riders like Brian Blyther, Craig Campbell & Eddie Roman. I tried digging up some relevant visuals but all I was able to find was the video above from a New Zealand tv show that has some of the riders from the LAB team.

Chris is on the road at the moment so prizes will be picked on Monday. In the mean time, keep checking our Twitter (RSS). It gets updated more often than one full rotation of the Earth.
