Whose wheels are these?!

Here are a few things that popped up on the internet that you guys should check out. The last one doesn’t click out anywhere yet but it should be pretty easy to find with a little searching. There’s a full picture of his bike floating around somewhere…

FROSTBIKE

I hit up the annual Frostbike show at QBP this weekend, which I love going to.

It seemed like a quick trip, but as always, a bunch of cool riders and shop people from all over the states came by to show some love and talk BMX. It was good to hear everyone’s feedback on a bunch of different stuff, as well as overdose on energy bar samples. So, THANKS to everyone who came through.

I shot a handful of pics throughout the weekend with the iPhone, and uploaded them to our Flickr page as I went. You can check those out HERE.

Until next year….

We have a winner!

Actually, we have a couple winners. One chimed in via Twitter and another via E-mail. The brand that toured under the name “Unbelievably Extravagant Urban Gorilla Thrash Tour” is Life’s a Beach / Bad Boy Club in 89-90 and featured riders like Brian Blyther, Craig Campbell & Eddie Roman. I tried digging up some relevant visuals but all I was able to find was the video above from a New Zealand tv show that has some of the riders from the LAB team.

Chris is on the road at the moment so prizes will be picked on Monday. In the mean time, keep checking our Twitter (RSS). It gets updated more often than one full rotation of the Earth.

Want to win something?!

Unbelievably Extravagant Urban Gorilla Thrash Tour? What brand toured under this name? Let me know and you’ll win something. Not sure what. – CC

This was posted on our Twitter page not too long ago and we’re still waiting for a winner. For the last contest we did on Twitter, we gave out Ribcages and Tanwall tires. We still have no idea what the prize will be on this one but Chris mentioned it’ll be something unique.

Post your answers on Twitter or email them to us at:

UPDATE: By the way, the winner will need to be the first person to either post on Twitter, OR respond to the e-mail address listed above. Save your answers!!
UPDATE #2: The contest is over. The above e-mail address is now dead.

Gary Young x The Internet

Gary Young and the internet joined forces recently and you can spot him in a couple web vids. Above is a pool riding session with Mike Escamilla and inside the cosmotron (read more link) is a “Dropping in” segment from the Ride site.

Mike Aitken’s custom wheels

Fit Bike Co. put up a few pictures of Mike Aitken and his new bike earlier this week. To match his frame, we laced up a custom wheelset for him to roll around on. Check it out in the flipbook above (If you want to embed it and customize the width, use the button in the Flash player).

Make sure to visit MikeAitken.com for the latest updates on Mikey. He turned 26 last week and his condition continues to improve!

Skier Jay Interview

Jason Eichhorst AKA Skier Jay

Nuno and the Defgrip crew just put up an in-depth interview with Skier J. He produces a LOT of work for BMX and in the interview, you can catch him talking about things from how he got his nickname, printing shirts, photography, painting, design and much more. He’s also the man behind the lens of our latest Mike Aitken Ad and some of the wallpapers we’ve offered these past few months (Beringer – Shed, Mike Aitken and Beringer – Jacket).

Oh and as to what Matt Beringer was doing in his latest wallpaper:

Jump onto the shed, land can can, and I guess you could call it a saran wrap barspin driving it with my leg and it kind of turns me around when it spins.  I like tricks that you can’t name because they’re too hard to explain.  I do one of these in my day in the life in Props 69 and also in “I wanna live.”

Somebody should do this trick in the air and name it something really stupid and take credit for inventing it.

Later,
Matt

Interview up over at ESPN

There’s an interview up of Mr. George French over at the ESPN site. In it, he talks about various products from the G-Sport line.

G-Sport’s roots lie in the classic DIY workshop scenario: rider breaks old parts, uses combo of an engineering mind, burly old lathes, grease and logic to build new long-lasting bike parts, then starts selling these parts, develops more parts, swaps old lathes for computerized CNC set-up, eventually joins Odyssey to innovate more parts, wins a few design awards, and the rest, as they say, is history.

Give it a read and then put some bunnies on your monitor.

Bike Check: Terry Adams

There are a lot of Flatware products currently in the prototype stages and Terry Adam’s ride has just about all of them. Check out his bike check above to get a full list and a closer look. Also, if that shirt looks familiar, it’s the Frequency G tire pattern shirt we posted about a while ago.

All photos are by Robby Klein.

The Odd Couple: Taj and Jeff

Ray’s MTB Park held an “Odd Couple” contest last week and Taj Mihelich, along with Jeff Lenosky, wound up taking second place. To check out some behind the scenes photos, make sure to visit The Blog of Taj.

Electronical: Jimmy Levan

Here’s JTML’s part in Electronical. At the moment, he’s down in Louisville taking care of business for Metal. He’s not back on the bike yet but some rehab and physical therapy is putting him on track. Hopefully he’ll be back to 100% soon.

If you’re wondering what the song is, it’s “Going Underground” by The Jam.
