Aaron and our Linear Quik-Slic Kable

If you run brakes, there shouldn’t be any debate to what cable you should run. We make the original linear cable and to this day, it’s still the best. Our special K-Shield housing tests out to be 55% stronger than all of our competitors. It’s found on ALL of our linear cables; the Original, Race (30% lighter), SLS (ultra smooth with PTFE coating) and our Quik Slic (Linear Slic Kable and Straddle Cable in one).

To give you guys an idea of what makes them so good, we put together this video starring Aaron Ross to highlight the key features of our Linear Slic Kables. Aaron uses the Quik-Slic version for improved performance and easy install.

Quik Slic Linear Kables

Our new Quik Slic Linear Kables are available now. Please read on for all the info you will need.

The Quik Slic is a patent pending, all-in-one, cable design. This means that the cable, cable hanger and straddle cable are all manufactured as one unit. In addition to providing an incredibly easy assembly, the braking response is greatly improved as a result of eliminating the traditional cable “bend” and tightening points that are usually found on a normal straddle hanger. You can feel the difference as soon as you pull the lever. Quik Slic equipped complete bikes have been shipping since late 2011, and the response from bike shop employees is universal. The assembly is a piece-of-cake, and braking performance improves immediately. Every Quik Slic uses our improved K-Shield Linear housing assembly.

Linear Slic Kable. Tested. Proven.

We are dedicated to improving our cable’s technical features, so we recently began selling all of our Linear Slic Kable® with our new K-Shield™ housing. This new design greatly improves the housing’s compression strength. To illustrate the difference we performed a test. As you can see, all “linear” cables are not created equal. The Odyssey Linear Slic Kable® with K-Shield™ has a compression strength that is nearly 70% greater than its nearest competitor. What this means for you is longer cable life and improved reliability.

When it comes to cables, don’t fall for the same old sales pitch. They’re not all the same. We know that you’ll appreciate the long life of these cables as much as we do. K-Shield™ is included on every Linear Slic Kable® that we make.

Quik Slic Kable Info

Since we first showed the Quik Slic kable at Interbike 2010, we have had many questions regarding the product and availability.

For those just learning about the Quik Slic Kable, it is a patent pending, all-in-one, cable design. This means that the cable, cable hanger and straddle cable are all manufactured as one unit. I have the Quik Slic on my bike and I could not be happier. In addition to easy assembly, the braking response is noticeably improved as a result of eliminating the traditional cable “bend” and tightening points that are usually found at a normal straddle hanger.
