Hoang Tran and KC Badger both have bike checks up on the internet. You can check out Hoang’s setup at RideBMX.com and KC’s at DigBMX.com.
Gripped like a Hawk
Chase Hawk signature grips are available now! They’re soft, easy on the palms and can be used with or w/out flanges. They may or may not increase your boost but they will allow you to grip your bars and hang on for dear life when you’re soaring through the skies. Hit up your local shops or mail-orders to get a pair, then get nerdy and download the wallpaper to match.
ch… ch… changes.
Also, we started up an Odyssey Vimeo Group. It’s lonely at the moment so if you have a Vimeo account, feel free to join and share your videos through it.
Gary’s rear peg
Ever wondered what a tailwhip or a mid-air bail looks like from your peg’s point of you? I can’t say that I have but it’s an odd perspective to say the least. In the video above, Gary Young shows you what a switch-footed, opposite 360 looks like via his rear peg.
Rib and Roll

We have a lot of new rims available in various colors for all of your shredding and color-coordinating needs. The top of the line Ribcage rim is now available in the following hard-anodized, brake-friendly colors: red, blue, gold and black. In the Rollcage front, new colors include Fluorescent Pink, Ocean Blue, hard-anodized gold and hard-anodized blue.
Triple Gold G’s
As one of the main dudes behind our R&D, you can bet that Ben’s bike is dialed (and blinging gold). A complete parts list can be found in the flipbook above and a couple things to note are the new Four:four bars and the gold rims, spokes, nipples and hubs he’s running are now available.
Four:four bars
We just got a new shipment in and a ton of these bad boys showed up. Some places already have them in stock while others will be getting them very soon. Contact your shops and mail orders to get a pair.
Odyssey X Etnies
There’s that multiplication sign again, which means it’s time for another collab! Here’s a sneak peek for a limited edition colorway that’ll be happening a couple seasons down the road for Aaron’s new Etnies signature shoe, The Number. Though there isn’t an actual release date set for the Odyssey colorway, Aaron’s shoe will be available in its original colors this July!
Dean, WTF?!
Dean Dickinson, SHRALPIN’. Photo by Jared Souney (.com)
Dean Dickinson, the man with over 100 pools under his wheels, put together a jam this past weekend over at the Donald skatepark in Oregon. The park features a replica of the famous Nude Bowl and that’s where the majority of the shredding ensued. To help preserve the integrity of the pool coping, we donated a bunch of G-Sport Plegs. Dean’s carve photo above is bonkers and if you want to see more great pics and info from the jam, make sure to visit JaredSouney.com.
OS-BMX Meet Recap
The 2009 OS-BMX Meet happened this past Saturday. Our own Ben Ward won an awesome award for the Spike Bike and took home a crafty handlebar trophy. Our homies Greyboy and Truly Odd took home some trophies as well. Nuno has the throwback bike pics covered on Defgrip and Fat has a nice collection as well over at Ride BMX. Read more for miniature dogs, the Lord and a VW bus.
Aaron Ross interview
Here’s a sweet interview with Aaron Ross from the Etnies site. He has new signature shoe coming out. It’s titled The Number and you can buy a pair through BMX shops that sell Etnies or places in the mall, such as Journeys. Visit the Etnies blog for a preview of the shoe.

It’s not really a full bike check but it is a close-up look at a CUSTOM wheelset Ben Ward built up for Steve Blackey of Gravity Powered Vehicles and The Bicycle Source. Though you can’t buy it as a complete wheelset, all parts are available separately:
